Carpet Cleaning

Before Your Carpet is Cleaned, Please Do The Following:

  • Pre-vacuum areas that are to be cleaned
  • Move small furniture (tables, chairs, etc) from areas that are to be cleaned
  • Remove any small items (shoes, boxes, plants, etc) off of carpet
  • Remove any breakables or knick-knacks from tables or shelves that are to be moved by our technicians

The Carpet Cleaning Process

1. Pre-Inspection
Our service technicians will begin by performing a proper pre-inspection of all carpeted areas and/or upholstery prior to cleaning. This process includes taking note of carpet construction, soiling conditions, and detection of any possible stains.
2. Moving Furniture
Tables, chairs and sofas will be carefully moved. Larger and heavier items, such as beds, dressers, pianos and entertainment centers will be left in place. All furniture will be protected by use of disposable blocks placed underneath furniture legs.
3. Pre-Treatment
Stains, spots and traffic areas will be pre-treated for more effective stain & soil removal.
4. Hot Water Extraction & Rinse
After loosening the soil, our truck mounted hot water extraction process will thoroughly remove dirt and soil, leaving carpets clean, fresh, and looking like new! We use soft water heated to a temperature between 120-235 degrees depending on the fiber content and soiling condition of the carpet. This process also removes pollens, dust mites and pollutants, improving the air quality of your home.
5. Post Spot Treatment
If any stains are left behind after the extraction cleaning process, our technicians will utilize specialty spot-removal techniques distinctive to each particular stain in question.
6. DuPont's Teflon Carpet Protection (optional)
Using DuPont's Teflon Carper Protection will prevent many possible future stains from becoming permanent, not to mention making your carpet last longer, cleanup easier and stay clean longer. By applying DuPont's Teflon to the carpet, most dry soil can be removed simply by vacuuming, thus less dirt penetrates into the carpet, leaving it cleaner longer. Also, DuPont Teflon creates a sort of "protective shield" on the surface of your carpet, which allows time for you to blot up most spills before they become permanent stains. In short, protecting your carpet with DuPont Teflon Protector is HIGHLY recommended.
7. Allow Carpets to Dry
Now, simply allow time for carpets to dry. This usually takes no longer than a few hours, however the process may be quickened by utilizing household fans. When needed, our high velocity air dryers may be placed throughout the house to speed dry carpet (such as in cases of water damage or upon special request).

After Your Carpet is Cleaned

  • If possible, try to keep people and pets off of carpet for about 3-5 hours after being cleaned
  • Remove disposable blocks from underneath furniture 24 hours after carpet is cleaned
  • You may vacuum the carpet once the carpet has become thoroughly dry
